Your first swim meet
Meets can feel chaotic the first time. Here's how a meet day works.
The coaches enter swimmers in their events before the entry deadline. Download the free Meet Mobile app to see heat sheets and live results on your phone.
Plan to get there 15 minutes before warmups start. Find the Water Warriors team area, then have your swimmer check in with a coach.
Use a marker to write each event number, heat and lane on your swimmer's arm or hand. That's how they know when to head to the blocks.
Swimmers go to the blocks a few heats early. After every race they come straight to a coach for feedback, then back to the team area to rest.
Times show up in Meet Mobile and on the results boards. Disqualifications happen to everyone; they're part of learning, and a coach will explain what to fix.
